Irene’s heart stopped on 5 November 2018. Death came suddenly to her, but
she returned. She is 33 years old now.
El Primo de Saint Tropez, due to fear, has been preparing for death since
22 August 2004. He is 50 years old now.
Irene’s heart beats to the rhythm of electronic music That of El Primo de
Saint Tropez, at the tempo of a choir from a cloistered monastery.
El Primo and Irene imagine being confined to their own place of epiphany:
the monastery and the hospital, and they take as much time to respond as it
would take for an ordinary letter to arrive from Madrid to Las Batuecas.
Irene is El Primo's confessor, just as Saint Teresa had a confessor when
she described her various mystical experiences. El Primo is Irene's guide
on her return from death, as she fantasises that he was reading the Tibetan
Book of the Dead to her at that moment her body decided not to continue,
but to return to the place of meaning.
Two oposing paths
Irene from nothing to matter.
El Primo from matter to nothing.
